Kindle DX – An Innovative Wireless Reading Device
On the 7th of July 2010, Amazon Kindle DX was released by Amazon.com, Inc. This new reading device offers Kindle’s innovative wireless delivery and wide array of selection of content with a large 9.7″ electronic paper display, storage of up to 3,000 books, built-in PDF reader, and auto-rotate capability. Currently, there are more than 275,000 electronic books that are available in the Kindle Store. New Releases and New York Time Best Sellers cost $9.99, unless marked otherwise. Likewise, Top U.S. and international magazines and newspapers, along with more than 1,500 blogs are available.
Amazon.com’s founder and CEO, Jeff Bezos, says, “Personal and professional documents look so good on the big display that you’ll find yourself changing ink-toner cartridges less often. Cookbooks, computer books, and textbooks – anything highly formatted – also shine on the this device. Carry all your documents and your whole library in one slender package.”
New Large Display. It has 2.5 times the surface area of Kindle’s 6″ display. The device utilizes E ink that looks amazingly similar to ink on paper. Moreover, it doesn’t use a backlight, thus the elimination of glare, eye strain and battery consumption.
New Built-In PDF Reader. Using Adobe Reader Mobile technology, it enables PDF files to be viewed and enjoyed. File transfer is simple, which may either be emailed to their Kindle email address or be moved using a USB connection.
New Auto-Rotation. The display content of Kindle DX auto-rotates giving readers the choice to view files in either the landscape or portrait mode. This is accomplished by simply turning the device to the desired orientation.
Incredibly Thin. This is over a third of an inch thin, which is thinner than most magazines.
Syncs with Kindle Compatible Devices. This device makes use of Amazon Whispersync technology that automatically syncs contents across Kindle-compatible devices. With this, users can easily move from one device to another.
Lastly, Kindle DX is available in Amazon.com along with other Kindle Wireless Reading Devices.

Read More...Amazon Kindle and Amazon Kindle DX – What Makes Them So Great?
Prepare to rethink the process of reading forever! With the release of the Amazon Kindle and Amazon Kindle DX electronic book readers, Amazon.Com is doing just that.
Amazon.Com released the first model Kindle in November, 2007 and it was instantly loved by the book-reading public. The second model Amazon Kindle was released in February, 2009 and the eagerly anticipated Amazon Kindle DX in June, 2009.
So, what’s the difference concerning the two models? The Amazon Kindle is the tinier model with a six inch display screen. The Kindle light weight at an impressive 10.2 ounces, has 2GB internal storage space letting it hold 1,500 books, and is just about the size of a paperback and the thickness of a magazine. The Amazon Kindle DX is the Kindel’s larger sibling with a 9.7 inch display screen and 4GB internal storage space letting it hold 3,500 books, with the dimensions of a magazine, and an internal PDF reader that the Kindle does not have.
What is similar in both Kindles is the underlying notion that Amazon.Com hoped for when crafting them. To have the reader lose themselves in the novel and disregard what they heald in their hands while reading it. Amazon.Com has succeeded in accomplishing this. Likely the most noteworthy area is the display itself. Both Kindles are made with an E Ink’ electronic paper display with high resolution and 16-level gray scale to produce the appearance of printed paper. The display lacks glare or backlight which tend to strain the reader’s eyes. This along with the ergonomic design, easy to use buttons, and light weight combine to make the reading experience more enjoyable.
Another great feature shared by the Amazon Kindle and Amazon Kindle DX is the free Whispernet wireless technology that is from the Sprint 3G high-speed network that is used for downloading. Therefore the Kindle does not requires a computer or internet connection to get into the Kindle Store. Because of the rapidity of the 3G network, books also download in less than 60 seconds. This technology also grants automatic downloads of magazines, newspapers, and blogs on the move due to the extended nationwide coverage of the Sprint 3G network. The best thing about this is that this is entirely free when you buy the Amazon Kindle or Amazon Kindle DX.
New extras that Amazon.Com has installed in both the Kindle and Kindle DX include a read-to-me function which allows you to have your Kindle read out loud your favorite book, magazine, newspaper, or blog to you; capability to bookmark and place annotations using the complete QWERTY keyboard, a preinstalled dictionary, preinstalled free access to Wikipedia.Org, access to Audible.Com to download audio books, a basic web browser for searching the web, a library back-up of all owned books at Amazon.Com, and a mp3 player inside allowing you to hear your music while reading.
Is the Amazon Kindle and Amazon Kindle DX appropriate for you? With all the user friendly tidbits, reduced book prices, and the ability to carry your entire library with you everywhere; the better question is: who is it not appropriate for?

Amazon raises the bar with its cool Kindle DXmodel of popular Kindle Reader line of eBook Readers. The Amazon Kindle DX, a wireless eBook reading device is much larger than its predecessors, Kindle and Kindle 2 readers. It is 9.7″ in length and is ideal for reading newspapers, magazines and textbooks.
The newest Amazon Kindle maintains Amazon’s lead over other eBook readers and makes it the best eBook reader and overcomes the challenge from Sony eBook readers PRS 500 and PRS 700 and Nook. The cool Kindle DX display is very easy to read from because it uses the latest technology in electronic ink. It is easy to read even in bright sun light and there are no problems due to glare or backlight. The power consumption is also low as a result. You can even read for days on a single charge! Kindle and Kindle 2 readers did not have built in PDF readers while Sony readers did. That differentiation is no longer there because the Kindle DX now has a built in PDF Reader that allows you to carry all your PDF e-books, and personal and professional documents where ever you go. The display is very sophisticated and rich supporting 16 shades of grey to allow viewing a variety of reading material including graphic rich content such as maps and computer graphics. The display can automatically rotate between portrait and landscape viewing modes for viewing large width content such as maps, graphics, images and tables. This makes Kindle DX not only a personal companion but an important professional companion and could become as useful as the business wireless devices such as Blackberry and i-phone.
Just like its predecessors Kindle and Kindle 2 readers, Kindle DX supports built in 3G wireless capability through Whispernet which means you can always get connected without having to look and pay for WiFi hotspots. You can download in less than 60 seconds from Amazon Kindle library of 350,000 books and magazines.
The Amazon Kindle DX has an internal memory of about 4GB which can store up to 3,500 books. You can go with this massive library anywhere in the world. If you are on the move and want to download a new book you can do that anywhere in the US. But unlike its predecessor, Kindle 2, you can download while traveling abroad.
